Judy and Gary Nelson give beginners ballroom dance lessons on every first and third, (fifth) Thursday evening from 7:15 to 8:45. They cover the majority of the ballroom dances;  Waltz, Fox Trot, Rumba, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Mambo, etc. They expect input from the participants and will alter the classes accordingly. Depending on class advancement, it might be possible to include more difficult dances such as the Samba and Tango.

Although it is not required, it is best to have a partner.

Judy and Gary were naturals from the very beginning in 1997 when they first took a six-week dance class given by Boyd Williams, the noted instructor, competitor, and judge of ballroom dancing. It wasn’t long before Williams had the Nelsons demonstrating the dances to the rest of the class. They continued with classes and put into practice what they learned in a way that only those with a passion can do. They enjoy dancing and you can tell.

Their first venture into instructing was three years ago at the Elks Lodge, and it turned out they were naturals at teaching as well. When an opportunity to teach at the Club arose, they jumped at the chance.
